This was a strange coincidence. I discovered this song only recently and decided to feature it as my May contribution, and then Asha Bhosle passed away so it became my tribute as well. Probably not her best song, but we have featured so many of her songs here that I am happy to feature another nice number. And it has that lovely combination of Gulzar, R D Burman and Asha, which makes me happier still. 

My introduction to Swaroop Sampat was from DD’s Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi by which time I think her acting chops had been honed. Her acting in this number and her lip sync leave much to be desired, so I prefer the audio to the video for this one. ~ R
