Ek aaye ek jaye musafir duniya ek saray re
Ek aaye ek jaye musafir duniya ek saray re, ek aaye
Albele armanon ke toofan lekar aaye
Naadan sau baras ke saaman lekar aaye
Albele armanon ke toofan lekar aaye
Naadan sau baras ke saaman lekar aaye
Aur dhool udata chala jaye
Ek aaye ek jaye musafir duniya ek saray re, ek aaye
Dil ki zubaan apni hai dil ki nazar bhi apni
Dil ki zubaan apni hai dil ki nazar bhi apni
Pal bhar mein anjane se pehchan bhi ho jaye
Pehchan do ghadi ki ban pyaar muskuraye
Do din ki zindagi rang laye
Ek aaye ek jaye musafir duniya ek saray re
Ek aaye ek jaye musafir duniya ek saray re ek aaye ek jaye
Ek aaye ek jaye musafir duniya ek saray re ek aaye ek jaye

This song is from Musafir (1957), which is different from most movies in that it features a collection of three stories. All have different characters belonging to three unrelated families, who were consecutive tenants of the same house. This song is featured in a tea shop opposite that house.
I had a hard time deciding which song to feature here. I mean, the film has Dilip Kumar singing with Lata Mangeshkar (Laagi nahin chhoote rama) and Kishore Kumar’s wonderful Munna bada pyaara.
Ultimately, I chose this song based on our blog’s theme of unjaane. The lyrics are philosophical. It's sung by Shyamal Mitra, a big name in Bangla music but little known perhaps to Hindi film audiences since he has sung only in a few Hindi films.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! ~ S
