Aap ki aankhon mein kuch mehke hue se raaz hain

Aap ki aankhon mein kuch mehke hue se raaz hain
Aap ki aankhon mein kuch mehke hue se raaz hain
Aap se bhi khoobsurat aap ke andaaz hain
Aap ki aankhon mein kuch mehke hue se raaz hain

Labh hille toh mogre ke phool khilte hain kahin
Labh hille toh mogre ke phool khilte hain kahin
Aap ki aankhon mein kya saahil bhi milte hain kahin
Aap ki khaamoshiyaan bhi aap ki aawaaz hain

Aap ki aankhon mein kuch mehke hue se raaz hain
Aap se bhi khoobsurat aap ke andaaz hain
Aap ki aankhon mein kuch mehke hue se raaz hain

Aap ki baaton mein phir koi sharaarat toh nahin
Aap ki baaton mein phir koi sharaarat toh nahin
Bevajah taarif karna aap ki aadat toh nahin
Aap ki badmaashiyon ke yeh naye andaaz hain

Aap ki aankhon mein kuch mehke hue se raaz hain
Aap se bhi khoobsurat aap ke andaaz hain
Aap ki aankhon mein kuch mehke hue se raaz hain

Movie: Ghar (1979)
Director: Manik Chatterjee
Singer: Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar
Lyricist: Gulzar
Music Composer: R D Burman

I was so surprised to discover that we have featured only one song from Ghar on this blog. It’s a soundtrack that has no bad songs at all! In my current frame of mind, I don’t feel up to listening or watching Phir wohi raat hain, so I will feature it some other day. It is beautiful, but the knowledge of its context in the movie always makes me teary-eyed. So, for today, I want to feature this lovely duet that celebrates the affection that the lead couple share. I love the gentleness of this R D Burman score, the laugh in Lata Mangeshkar’s voice, and the off-the-charts onscreen chemistry between Rekha and Vinod Mehra! Of course, Gulzar is something else: aankhon mein… mehke hue se raaz! Swoon! ~ R
