The film Chitchor has so many great songs. I purposefully did not choose Gori tera gaanv bada pyaara because our blog talks of gaane unjaane, and I felt this song is a lot less popular than Gori tera. The Amol Palekar-Zarina Wahab combination also works for me. Do deewane shehar mein, which we have posted earlier, is another favorite featuring the same pair.

But I am losing the plot here! We are commemorating Zarina on her birthday (July 17).

Noted for her performances in Chitchor, Gharonda, Gopal Krishna, and a few Malayalam films, Zarina was trained at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. She comes across as an elegant woman in all her films. Despite having a rather troublesome personal life, she seems strong and dignified. Here’s wishing her a happy and tranquil birthday! ~ S
