This song is meant to remember Dimple Kapadia’s birthday, which was on June 8. So many hit songs have been picturized on her but I chose this one from Rudaali because I love the story of the film as well as the lyrics of this song. Besides, Dimple Kapadia won a National Film Award for her depiction of Shanichari in this film. 

As I was reading up on Rudaali for this post, I saw that Dimple has been cast in a Christopher Nolan film. Good for her, because like Shanichari in Rudaali she has had her fair share of troubles up until now. ~ S
