Yeh mera deewanapan hain

Dil se tujh ko bedili hain, mujh ko hain dil ka guroor
Tu yeh maane ke na maane, log maanenge zaroor

Yeh mera deewanapan hain ya mohabbat ka suroor
Yeh mera deewanapan hain ya mohabbat ka suroor
Tu na pehchaane toh hain yeh teri nazron ka kasoor
Yeh mera deewanapan hain

Dil ko teri hi tamanna, dil ko hain tujh se hi pyaar
Dil ko teri hi tamanna, dil ko hain tujh se hi pyaar
Chaahe tu aaye na aaye, hum karenge intezaar
Yeh mera deewanapan hain ya mohabbat ka suroor
Tu na pehchaane toh hain yeh teri nazron ka kasoor
Yeh mera deewanapan hain

Aise veerane mein ek din, ghut ke marr jaayenge hum
Aise veerane mein ek din, ghut ke marr jaayenge hum
Jitna ji chaahe pukaaro, phir nahin aayenge hum
Yeh mera deewanapan hain ya mohabbat ka suroor
Tu na pehchaane toh hain yeh teri nazron ka kasoor
Yeh mera deewanapan hain
Yeh mera deewanapan hain

This is a song I like listening to although it is traditionally classified as a sad song. And it was only when I decided to feature it to commemorate the birthday of Dilip Kumar (11 November) that I realized that Mukesh has sung quite a few songs for the actor. In fact, my last song for this blog was also one that Mukesh sang for Dilip Kumar but in Madhumati. Both songs are beautifully rendered and feature two shades of the same actor. Apparently, Dilip Kumar is the first man to be awarded the Filmfare for Best Actor and also shares the record for the maximum number of these awards with Shah Rukh Khan. Wishing him a happy birthday! ~ R
